“Yemaya” is a piece that holds a special place in my heart, as she represents power, grace, beauty, nurturing, life giving and life sustaining. During a time when I felt none of these things, connecting with the image of Yemaya was a healing experience. This painting is inspired by the deity who shares her namesake.
“Yemaya” has been created with the use of full-body acrylic paint on an 24” x 36” gallery wrapped canvas. It features a woman in a blue dress made of the oceans themselves, dancing with the tides as ships float and crash upon the surface.
